New Painting Idea I've Been Trying to put together. "Wisdom"

I did a photo shoot last night, and was playing with the pictures today.  Did a couple of compositions but I really liked this one the most, so Im posting it up.  Let me know what you think.  I love symbolism and need to paint things with meaning.  This painting will be titled "Wisdom".  The girl is sitting on a suspended metal circle while trying to grab a white feather.  The white feather has alot of meaning but what caught my attention the most is that one of them is wisdom.  A feather floating in the air may show your desire to ascend to higher spiritual knowledge or intellectual ambition. The lightness of a feather also implies light heartedness and enjoying the good things in life. They also represent spiritual authority and wisdom.   Im still playing with it, and it might change as i go along, you will see the final product before I start painting it, or when the sketch is done.  This painting will be 30x40 on canvas, maybe larger, still thinking about that.

Photo Shoot Today

I've been working on sketches for some new ideas using circles with the figure.  Today I have a model coming and will be working on some poses etc.  Hope to post the pictures up.  I want to paint larger so this series will be in oils :).

New Compositions

Working on several projects.  First of all, working on a head study in oils!  Im having alot of fun with it.  Im also working on some new compositions on some ideas that I have for some paintings that I want to do.  I want to start playing with circles and more movements in my paintings so we shall see! 

I will be heading down to Center City Galleries to pick up my painting :(.  The show is over, but it was a wonderful experience.  Saturday I will be at the galleries in Paterson, from 11-1 teaching.  Anyone interested can just show up and join in.  I expect to spend more time there working on my own work, larger pieces Im thinkin of realizing.  Lots and lots of things going on , Im excited!

New piece/ Busy

    Wow, been so busy multitasking. I like to take some time and study my favorite artist when going into a new painting for inspiration.  I love looking at the works of Bougearou, Mucha, Waterhouse, and Frida. Then I like to start looking at color palettes, textures, just to change it up a bit.  I start thinking about textures and what story do I want to tell with this painting.

    Working on some sketches for a new painting.    I want to start playing with textures more in the background, maybe do some mixed media.  We shall see.  I have a model coming next week so Im really excited.  Besides that working on another drawing should be posting it up soon.

Finished Painting, and Drawing almost done.

I spent so much time running around yesterday, I didnt get a chance to post whats been going on.  Finally got the glass for the frames.  Had to buy some things for the show.  Whew very exhausting.

Im so happy I finished another painting.  Now, I havent had a chance to take a good picture of it yet, so here are the pics that I took with my camera phone LOL.  I know terrible, it doesnt do it justice.  But, the good pictures should be up by the weekend.

I titled this painting "Sentient II".  The composition focuses mainly on the head, the headwrap was so much fun to do.  The series Im currently working on has alot of gold in it.  I think it brings warmth to the painting.  (thats just me).

I posed for the drawing of Angel, LOL Im no angel.  But, needed a model didnt want to wait. Again the picture does not do this piece justice.  I need to get them photographed asap!  But, you get the idea of what I've done.  So many people are asking me about my new pieces, and here are the previews.

New Drawing

Im working on a new drawing 18x24 on canson paper.  I have to frame a few pieces for the show on Saturday.  So much to do so little time.  Almost done with a new painting, has alot of texture which I love :).  Will post a picture of it up shortly.
